The Flowing Hair Half Dollar was originally authorized under the Mint Act of April 2, 1792. Coins feature a design by Robert Scot depicting Liberty with flowing hair on the obverse and a Bald Eagle on the reverse. The type was issued for only two years before being replaced by the subsequent design.
